Michel Lemay
I am a public relations and corporate communication professional, based in Montreal (Canada). I hold diplomas from Laval University (Quebec) and the École des Hautes Études Commerciales (HEC Montréal). I also have completed an MA at Université du Québec à Montréal. My field of research is the intersection of journalism ethics and framing.
In 2022, I published Intox, journalisme d’enquête, désinformation et « cover-up » (Québec Amérique), in which I demonstrate how the news media can publish, tolerate and defend stories that are undoubtedly wrong. I focus on five stories, including a major, vaccine-related journalistic fiasco. In 2014, I published Vortex, la vérité dans le tourbillon de l’information (Québec Amérique), a critical essay on journalism. It won the Victor-Barbeau Award of Académie des lettres du Québec in 2015.
